Discipleship Resources - June 18, 2020

CHBC,

Each week we have attempted to bring you additional personal resources to further your thinking and spiritual growth during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This week in addition to some general resources we want to help you think about the racial tension of our nation and the controversy surround Black Lives Matter. Please use these resources to your benefit and the glory of God.  And remember 1 Corinthians13:13, “13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” (KJV) Charity is defined in Webster’s 1828 Dictionary as, “In a general sense, love, benevolence, good will; that disposition of heart which inclines men to think favorably of their fellow man, and to do them good. In a theological sense, it includes supreme love to God, and universal good will to men.”

CHBC,
[see link below to RSVP for Re-Gathering June 21, 2020; but please read content]

It is Wednesday, June 17, 2020, and I wanted to update you on Wednesday night and Sunday church gatherings.  I know you get a lot of emails, texts, and other communications right now from many different sources, but please read this and stay informed about what is happening at CHBC.

Wednesday Nights

  • Summer Wednesdays have begun
  • We will meet and follow suggested guidelines for meeting together in smaller groups.
  • Preschoolers will be in the Preschool rooms @ 6 PM
  • Children are meeting in the Activity Center @ 6 PM
  • Student Ministry is meeting in Solomon’s Porch for Bible Study and then outside for a time of fellowship and recreation @ 6 PM
  • Adult Bible Study is meeting in the Worship Center @ 6 PM
  • College Ministry is meeting at Pastor Jason’s home @ 8 PM

Wednesday Night Adult Bible Study Topic

  • Blueprint for Biblical Parenting
  • Our pastors will be teaching on Biblical parenting principles during the Summer Wednesday Series
  • Who should attend?
  • “Anyone who is a parent at any stage of parenting, anyone who anticipates being a parent in the future, anyone who is a grandparent and has an active role in their adult children’s or grandchildren’s lives, or anyone who is a member of a church where parents, or future parents attend. I.e. any Christian who is being faithful to their covenant agreement as a church member” ~ Pastor Mark

Sunday Re-Gathering

  • Current worship service times for AM Worship are 10 AM for English-speaking worship, and 12 PM for Spanish-speaking worship
  • CHBC is still honoring physical distancing recommendations
  • This means we are only being seated on every other row of the Worship Center (rows should be clearly marked)
  • We are allowing a three-chair gap between family units (a family unit is made up those who live in the same home)
  • We remind those who are 65 years of age and older, or who are in a higher-risk category to know that our health agencies are still discouraging being in crowded public spaces
  • Wearing a mask is not required, but is appropriate if you feel you need it for your safety and the safety of others
  • We are sanitizing prior to each gathering
  • Please be aware that some have reason to be more cautious than others, therefore respect people’s space and convictions
  • We are using RSVP so that we can have enough seating in the Worship Center and in our overflow rooms, as well as to prepare properly for the number of children who will be in ETC (Extended Teaching Care for 3 years of age and younger)
  • Please use this link to RSVP: CHBC Re-Gathering for June 21, 2020
  • If you forget to RSVP you are still welcome to attend, or to bring a guest, just be aware that those who arrive late may need to be seated in overflow
