CHBC,

Pastor Isaias said this week as our staff met and prayed. “We may not be able to meet together like we are used to doing, but we must urge the people to read their Bibles and to grow in the Lord.” I cannot agree more. Are you grateful for the pastoral leadership God has brought to CHBC? I am! Here are some resources to aid you in your spiritual growth.

CHBC,

The CHBC Re-Gathering Plan will continue for this week, May 31, for morning worship. Please watch for details in a separate email and on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter about how to RSVP for this week’s Re-Gathering. We will have 3 options for the CHBC congregation to meet publicly and corporately, as well as continued gathering via Facebook Live.

Memorial Day Holiday

Traditionally at CHBC we have not had Wednesday night activities on the week of Memorial Day. That will be true for this year as well. There will be no Zoom Student Ministry gathering, or Collegiate Ministry gathering. Pastor Tyler will not have a midweek devotion from the Worship Ministry either. We look forward to what will happen in June, but are still uncertain as to how midweek activities will occur next week. We will share as soon as we have updates to our plans.

At Home Wednesday Devotions

Each week we have been sending a family devotion from NAMB to you. Some of you may have used each lesson. Others maybe have not looked at this yet. I am going to include that link still. We have also sent you Connect Group Questions. These are used normally when our adults meet on Wednesday in small groups. But we began making them available for your at home devotions. These questions are derived from Pastor Mark’s Sunday morning messages. An attachment to the questions is still available this week.

Wednesday Devotional Tools

  1. Family Devotions entitled, “Seeing Jesus through the Uncertainty”.  These family devotions are provided by the North American Mission Board of the SBC.  Many parents have asked us how to discuss the virus and its impact on our world with their children.  These devotions are designed to do just that.  Use these for Wednesday, Sunday morning, or a weekly family devotion another night of the week.  You can access and download these lessons by clicking this link: Family Devotions from NAMB.
  2. Connect Group Questions – these are in the form of an attachment; we use these in our adult Wednesday nights, but could be used as a discussion points for a couple, a family, or any small group you gather via Zoom, skype or Facetime.  Consider inviting some others to join you in one of these virtual ways to think more about Pastor Mark’s sermon from Matthew 5 this past Sunday.
