CHBC Re-Gathering – Week 2 (May 24, 2020)
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.

Please read the details of the CHBC Re-Gathering Plan by visiting this link: CHBC Re-Gathering. From there you will also be able to go to the link where you can RSVP for one of the two English-speaking services on Sunday. Your RSVP is only for this Sunday, May 24. We will need to RSVP each week for services until we can Re-Gather without restrictions. You can go directly to the RSVP link here: RSVP for CHBC Re-Gathering.

Sunday School
When will we have Sunday School Groups again? While we cannot answer that question yet, we can provide you with resources to use while you are at home. You may even want to invite another person or family to your home to do Sunday School with you. Until the time we can re-group for Sunday School, we will continue to give you materials for Sunday School.

Prayer
Spend a moment in prayer asking God to bring spiritual awakening to your family, friends, neighbors, and the nations.

Ephesians 1:18-21

18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

Quotes from Church History
B.B. Warfield on Salvation: “We have but one Saviour; and that one Saviour is Jesus Christ our Lord. Nothing that we are and nothing that we can do enters in the slightest measure into the ground of our acceptance with God. Jesus did it all.” B.B. Warfield (1851-1921, Professor of Theology at Princeton Seminary)

CHBC,

The CHBC Re-Gathering Plan will continue for this week, May 24, for morning worship. Please watch for details in a separate email and on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter about how to RSVP for this week’s Re-Gathering. We will have 3 options for the CHBC congregation to meet publicly and corporately, as well as continued gathering via Facebook Live.  Until then, enjoy these resources for your midweek Bible Studies.

AWANA Families

Do not forget that tonight, May 20, is the Drive-through AWANA Awards, from 6-7 PM. Mrs. Cheryl, Mr. Tom, and Mr. Jerry, and many of your leaders will be present to cheer you on. Please drive-through the east parking lot, receive your award, get a picture taken, and receive a special treat. We cannot wait to see you there! Part of the drive-by will be on Facebook Live as well. So, CHBC, if you cannot be present, watch live at 6 PM on the CHBC Facebook page.

Wednesday Devotional Tools:

  1. Family Devotions entitled, “Seeing Jesus through the Uncertainty”.  These family devotions are provided by the North American Mission Board of the SBC.  Many parents have asked us how to discuss the virus and its impact on our world with their children.  These devotions are designed to do just that.  Use these for Wednesday, Sunday morning, or a weekly family devotion another night of the week.  You can access and download these lessons by clicking this link: Family Devotions from NAMB.
  2. Connect Group Questions – these are in the form of an attachment; we use these in our adult Wednesday nights, but could be used as a discussion points for a couple, a family, or any small group you gather via Zoom, skype or Facetime.  Consider inviting some others to join you in one of these virtual ways to think more about Pastor Mark’s sermon from Matthew 5 this past Sunday.
  3. Zoom Student Bible Study – Pastor Jason and Alex will be connecting with the students again this week on Zoom at 6 PM.  They will send information to students and parents on how to connect.  They are monitoring who can enter the meetings and they can control what screens and what audio is shared.  This gathering will include a devotion for the students, time to interact, and a fun activity.
  4. Zoom College Bible Study – Pastor Jason and Jennifer will host their regular weekly Bible Study from 1 John, but instead of gathering in person in their home, they will meet on Zoom.  Pastor Jason will be sharing how to connect with each student.
  5. Pastor Tyler’s Worship Ministry Devotion – Pastor Tyler will share about a 10 minute devotion at 7:30 PM on Facebook.  You can connect to our Facebook page by clicking on this link: https://www.facebook.com/chbcokc/.  Pastor Tyler’s devotion this week is prerecorded because he will be in a worship ministry workshop via Zoom with the CHBC Worship Ministry.
