Why Does CHBC Exist? To Equip Believers
Ephesians 4:11-12, “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;” CHBC has a list of KNOW-BE-DO’s which are essential doctrines, values, and behaviors, hanging on the walls throughout the buildings. We are committed to equipping each believer what is necessary to serve Christ and His church. Commit yourself to faithful attendance at CHBC and be equipped through the ministries of the church.

Men’s Frat resumes January 17, 18, and 21
Men’s Frat is the way the men of CHBC are trained to become leaders at home, at church, and in the work God has given them to do. There are 4 sessions to choose from each week: Tuesdays at 6:30 AM; Wednesdays at 6 PM; and Saturdays at 7 AM and 9 AM. All the sessions are also on the YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/@chbcokc.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday – January 22, 2023
The Hope Pregnancy Center Mobile Ministry Unit will be on the CHBC campus during the morning of January 22. The mobile unit brings hope directly to locations where women can receive care, a pregnancy test, and an ultrasound from trained, Christian professionals. Tour the unit and pray for the unborn with us on January 22.

Scripture of the Month - January
Titus 2:1, “But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine.”

During 2023 CHBC will be saying aloud verses from the book of Titus 2. CHBC quotes Scripture aloud during our morning worship gathering. This is done for two reasons. First, we are commanded in Scripture to encourage one another with the Word of God. Second, we want to emphasize the spiritual discipline of Scripture memory. The goal of 2023 is for you to be able to quote the entire second chapter of the Epistle to Titus.

Why Does CHBC Exist?
Capitol Hill Baptist Church exists because in 1902 there were about twelve men and women who believed God was calling them to begin a new church located near SW 23rd and Harvey. Capitol Hill Baptist Church exists because for more than 120 years faithful servants of Christ have met, prayed, served, and shared the gospel with the lost of their community. Capitol Hill Baptist Church exists because there is still men and women, boys and girls, teens and students who are living without the knowledge and hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ. CHBC exists to equip believers like you, exalt Christ with one another, and to extend the gospel to our neighbors and the nations, all for the glory of God.

State of the Church Address – January 8 at 10:15 AM
Each year Pastor Mark’s first sermon of the year is a State of the Church Address. This annual sermon is designed to call the church to give special attention to spiritual needs the pastors of CHBC believe are necessary for the coming year. We encourage you to attend this service faithfully and prayerfully, with an expectation of the great things God has for CHBC in 2023.

Retirement Reception for Cheryl Ross – January 8 at 6 PM
Cheryl Ross, former director for preschool and children’s ministries at CHBC, retired effective December 31, 2022.
