Sunday School
This week as you begin your time of Sunday School at 9 AM, take a moment to send a text, make a phone call, or reach out in some other way to at least one other person in your Sunday School Class. Simply say this, “I am starting Sunday School now, and I am praying for you as I/we begin our lesson.” Allow your teenagers or children to use your phone or their own to do the same. We are meant to be connected. So, connect! And then tune in at 10:15 AM for Facebook Live for worship.

When Will the Church Meet at the Building Again?
This is a question we have been asking since March 16. Pastor Mark has prepared a letter to update you on the plans for May. You can see that letter on the CHBC Blog here: Blog, April 28, 2020.
Prayer
Acts 2:42 says, “42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Use this prayer strategy to help you pray: On a sheet of paper draw 5 concentric circles. In the center circle write, “Home”, in the next ring write, “Family Away”, in the next circle write, “Church, Friends, & Neighbors”, in the next circle write, “Missionaries & Ministry Partners”, and in the last circle write, “The Unreached People of the World”. Then take one minute to say a prayer for the needs in each of those circles. You can even begin to create a list on a separate sheet of paper under each of those headings.
Have you set up giving online? Have you had trouble scheduling your gifts to be recurring? Please reach out to the church office if you need help. Tithes and offerings can be made by mailing in your check, dropping off your tithe at the church office during normal office hours (8:30-4:30 Monday-Thursday, 8:30-12:30 Friday), or by giving online. You can give online by following this link to the website: CHBC Online Giving. Or click this link, or copy and paste this URL into your web browser: https://my.e360giving.com/App/Giving/chbchurch. If you need assistance with your online gift, please call the church office and someone can assist you.
Quotes from Church History
Martyn Lloyd-Jones on Prayer: “You are aware of a communion, a sharing, a give-and-take, if I may use such an expression. You are not dragging yourself along; you are not forcing the situation; you are not trying to make conversation with somebody whom you do not know. No, no! The Spirit of adoption in you brings you right into the presence of God, and it is a living act of fellowship and communion, vibrant with life.” – Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones (1899-1981, Welsh Evangelical Minister)
