Capitol Hill Baptist Weekly December 4, 2020

Lottie Moon Christmas Offerings
The annual offering of global missions for the Southern Baptist International Mission Board is named for Lottie Moon. You can read more about Lottie Moon below in our church history spotlight. The gifts to this offering are all spent on the mission field. None of these gifts are kept to cover overhead expenses for the IMB. The cooperative efforts of Baptists around the world empowers the greatest mission’s agency in America. You can give by designating an online gift, or your check to either Lottie Moon, or World Missions Offering. CHBC also hosts a Lottie Moon Post Office. This is a way for you to share your Christmas cards with the church family and donate the cost of stamps to the Lottie Moon offering. The post office will be available from December 6 through the end of the year. You can find the post office in the main hall near the entry to the Preschool Victory Village. To give follow this link: Missions. Choose either World Missions or Lottie Moon.

Angel Tree
We have sponsored more than 50 children at this point! And Angel Tree has given us the names of several more children you can sponsor. Angel Tree is a ministry started by Chuck Colson and Prison Fellowship to provide Christmas presents to the children of people who are incarcerated. The point of Angel Tree is to keep a bridge between the incarcerated parent and their children, while sharing the gospel with both the prisoner and the child. Prison Fellowship has requirements for inmates to qualify and works with the caregivers of the children. To sponsor a child through CHBC and Angel Tree follow this URL: https://tinyurl.com/chbcokcangeltree2020, and enter the code: TTOYE. Watch this video to learn more: Angel Tree

CHBC Re-Gathering – December 6, 2020
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.

Luke 1:31 says, “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.” Jesus means “God saves”. For the world Christmas is about personal time or personal wants, family, travel, vacation, presents, and holiday gatherings. For the believer we can enjoy these things with friends and family, but the meaning of Christmas for us is found in the name of our Savior. Make sure in your enjoyment of all the Christmas can bring, that you focus on exalting Christ. The best way to do that is gather to worship with the body of Christ.

Remember that we are offering our weekly service by live stream through the CHBC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/chbcokc/.  We are also providing seating in the Activity Center for Sunday School and Worship services, and we are asking that any who attend in this space wear a face covering for the duration of that time.

If you gather with us in the Worship Center know that we are physically distancing and sanitizing. You are more than welcome to wear a face covering at all times in order to protect others. Please RSVP, especially if you will be using ETC (Extended Teaching Care for 3 years and younger). The RSVP helps us be prepared for overflow seating, for children in ETC, and for seating in the Worship Center. Thank you for understanding the need to physically distance and to RSVP. Click the link to go the CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP page on the website: CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP.  If you forget to RSVP or you meet someone you want to invite to worship with us, please still attend and do not worry about telling them how to RSVP. We will accommodate everyone either in the main Worship Center or in our overflow rooms.
