Lottie Moon Christmas Offerings
The annual offering of global missions for the Southern Baptist International Mission Board is named for Lottie Moon. You can read more about Lottie Moon below in our church history spotlight. The gifts to this offering are all spent on the mission field. None of these gifts are kept to cover overhead expenses for the IMB. The cooperative efforts of Baptists around the world empowers the greatest mission’s agency in America. You can give by designating an online gift, or your check to either Lottie Moon, or World Missions Offering. CHBC also hosts a Lottie Moon Post Office. This is a way for you to share your Christmas cards with the church family and donate the cost of stamps to the Lottie Moon offering. The post office will be available from December 6 through the end of the year. You can find the post office in the main hall near the entry to the Preschool Victory Village.

Poinsettias for Sale
One of the fun and exciting things that is a tradition at CHBC is decorating the building for Christmas. We use the Sunday afternoon following services on the Sunday after Thanksgiving to work together to place wreaths, nativity sets, and Christmas trees throughout the building. We also use poinsettias. You can purchase a poinsettia to be used for décor in honor of a loved one. After the holidays you may take your poinsettia home with you. Poinsettia sales will begin this Sunday in the foyer.

Angel Tree
Angel Tree is a ministry started by Chuck Colson and Prison Fellowship to provide Christmas presents to the children of people who are incarcerated. The point of Angel Tree is to keep a bridge between the incarcerated parent and their children, while sharing the gospel with both the prisoner and the child. Prison Fellowship has requirements for inmates to qualify and works with the caregivers of the children. To sponsor a child through CHBC and Angel Tree follow this URL: https://tinyurl.com/chbcokcangeltree2020, and enter the code: TTOYE. Watch this video to learn more: Angel Tree

CHBC Re-Gathering – November 29, 2020
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.
As we transition into the Christmas Season, we should reflect on why Jesus came. According to His own words in Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” If this is the purpose of Jesus’ first advent, what is His ongoing ministry by the church to be doing until His second advent? Following His mission to seek and save the lost. We cannot save, but we can be an ongoing witness to His transforming power through the gospel. This is why part of the mission of the church is to extend the gospel to our neighbors and the nations. The church gathers to worship and scatters in worship by being obedient to the Great Commission.
Remember that we are offering our weekly service by live stream through the CHBC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/chbcokc/. We are also providing seating in the Activity Center for Sunday School and Worship services, and we are asking that any who attend in this space wear a face covering for the duration of that time.
If you gather with us in the Worship Center know that we are physically distancing and sanitizing. You are more than welcome to wear a face covering at all times in order to protect others. Please RSVP, especially if you will be using ETC (Extended Teaching Care for 3 years and younger). The RSVP helps us be prepared for overflow seating, for children in ETC, and for seating in the Worship Center. Thank you for understanding the need to physically distance and to RSVP. Click the link to go the CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP page on the website: CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP. If you forget to RSVP or you meet someone you want to invite to worship with us, please still attend and do not worry about telling them how to RSVP. We will accommodate everyone either in the main Worship Center or in our overflow rooms.

Sunday School
CHBC is currently Re-Grouping into Sunday School. Each class begins at 9 AM. You can read the Re-Grouping Plan for Sunday School here: CHBC Sunday School Re-Grouping. There are some changes to where groups meet, so please read the plan carefully. We will continue to send you links to use on your own at your home as well. You can find those below:

Midweek Prayer Gathering – Each Wednesday at 6 PM
Pastor Mark has been challenging the church to pray. While you and I can pray anywhere at any time, we are much more likely to pray, if we will set aside a time and join with others who are also praying. During the midweek service, Pastor Mark brings a devotion, and then calls on those present to pray for the church body. Join us at 6 PM in Room 221.

Quotes from Church History
Lottie Moon: “What we need in China is more workers. The harvest is very great, the laborers, oh! so few. Why does the Southern Baptist church lag behind in this great work?” – Lottie Moon (1840-1912, Baptist Missionary to China)
