CHBC Discipleship Resources for February 16, 2023

DISCIPLESHIP RESOURCES

A culture of discipleship in the church does not occur because there are lots of discipleship group ministries taking place. A discipleship culture is the result of members taking seriously the command to make disciples. That culture is a result of members taking responsibility of the spiritual health of one another. That culture spreads as members engage in conversations about spiritual matters, spiritual health, and spiritual growth. Daily conversation that moves beyond the pleasantries we so often settle for, and is willing to invite talking about matters of the heart and soul. People who are willing to invoke Scripture and the Holy Spirit into the conversation. If we are going to have those kinds of conversations flow between us, we need to input solid Christian content into our personal lives. The resources below are meant to guide you toward websites that you can engage with and trust the material to be faithful to the Scripture. Learn, talk, disciple one another.

CHBC Connect for February 10, 2023

What is God’s Vision for CHBC?
The church is founded on three fundamental non-negotiables. We identify these as three piers: The Centrality of the Scriptures, the Lordship of Christ, and the Glory of God. What do we mean by the Lordship of Christ? We mean that any true church must hold fast the confession of our faith, simply put – Jesus Christ is Lord (Heb. 10:23, Rom. 10:9-10). Jesus is not only Lord, but He is head of the church (Col. 1:18) It is appropriate that we acknowledge that as we worship, serve, and proclaim the good news.

Victory Christian Fellowship is a small Southern Baptist Church in the town of Panguitch, Utah. They are constructing a parsonage, while trying to keep ministry going to the residents and many visitors the area. We will be conducting a 4-day VBS and helping finish the building project during our trip. If you are interested in going on this mission trip, or would just like more information, please stay after church for a few minutes on Sunday, Feb. 5, to receive an information packet. Scripture of the Month - February
Titus 2:2, “Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.”

During 2023 CHBC will be saying aloud verses from the book of Titus 2. CHBC quotes Scripture aloud during our morning worship gathering. This is done for two reasons. First, we are commanded in Scripture to encourage one another with the Word of God. Second, we want to emphasize the spiritual discipline of Scripture memory. The goal of 2023 is for you to be able to quote the entire second chapter of the Epistle to Titus. Pick up your Scripture Memory card packs at the Resource Center outside the middle doors of the Worship Center.
