Worship at CHBC
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord. Did you know that God commands us to meet for worship? The church is people. The Bible uses phrases like family of God, brothers and sisters, bride of Christ, the temple of God built with living stones. All of these conjure up images of people. That sounds wonderful until you realize that as people, we are messy. We sin, and we do it well, and we do it to one another. Yet, we are connected and are supposed to keep doing life together in all of our messes. We are supposed to repent and meet together with the rest of the messy church and worship Jesus. That is what will happen this Sunday. You do not need to be perfect as you come to meet with the church. You just need to have a heart willing to repent, and an attitude to extend grace and exercise forgiveness to the other sinners who will meet you there.

RedeemED and the Aaron Project
Two years ago, CHBC launched an initiative to redeem the education of children. The goal is to encourage Christian teachers, administrators, and staff in public, private, and homeschools to use their platform to bring the gospel into the lives of their students, families, and colleagues. RedeemED is an annual luncheon and seminar on the first Monday of August and is open to anyone who works in the field of education. One of the ways we support these educators throughout the year is through the prayer support of the Aaron Project. The Aaron holds up the arms of the educator through prayer and words of affirmation throughout the year. Have you signed up for RedeemED or to be an Aaron? You can do so here: RedeemED and the Aaron Project

CHBC Men’s and Women’s Ministries
An active and vibrant men’s and women’s ministry in the local church does three things. First, it recognizes what creation reveals, that there are two genders who equal in God’s eyes while unique in design, function, and roles. Second, men’s and women’s ministries allow a place for Bible study, fellowship, and accountability to be shared among those who experience the same joys, trials, and temptations that are unique to being male and female. Third, it encourages the unique function and gifts of men and women to be used for the church in a way that blesses the entire family of faith.

Scripture of the Month
Each week CHBC says aloud a passage of Scripture during our morning worship gathering. This is done for two reasons. First, we are commanded in Scripture to encourage one another with the Word of God. Second, we want to emphasize the spiritual discipline of Scripture memory. The Scripture we will say and memorize for the month of July is 1 Corinthians 15:57-58, “but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” You can receive a text to your phone with this verse set to music by texting the word “CHBCVERSE” to the number (302) 207-SONG (7664).

Prayer
CHBC pray for one another to be humbled before God, to be thankful for God’s patience, thankful for His truth, and worshipful of His nature.
Psalm 138:2
“I will bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word according to all Your name.”

Worship at CHBC
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord. Did you know that God commands us to meet for worship? The Greek word we translate into the word “church” is really a word that means “gathering or assembly”. When the Bible speaks of church it is speaking of an assembled people. Gathering for worship is not optional for a follower of Jesus Christ. It is a command. And like all of God’s commands, it is given for our good. He commands us toward that which brings us the greatest joy. Gathering with the family of God is a command, but in its obedience, we are pursuing our highest joy. Because of this I cannot wait to meet with my church to worship our Lord this Sunday.

Prayer
Pray for CHBC to be a church hungry to know God’s truth.
Romans 12:3
“For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.”
