Lord’s Supper
This Sunday morning worship will include the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is the initiating act of obedience in following the Lord, and the Lord’s Supper is the ongoing act of being a disciple of Jesus Christ. All present who have professed faith in Christ and followed Him in believer’s baptism are invited to participate in the Lord’s Supper during the worship service. Pick up the Lord’s Supper pre-packaged elements as you are entering the Worship Center. Deacon’s will be stationed with baskets of the elements for you.
May 23 – Ekklesia in the Park @ 5 PM
This Sunday evening our worship will be at Little River Park, on the south end. Enter off of SW 149th Street/19th Street, go north on Eagle Drive, and then turn right on 10th Street. We will have a brief time of worship, a devotion, and then an opportunity to play, fellowship, and prayer walk the neighborhood, as well as hand out flyers inviting people to our VBS.
SON Sport Mission Trip – July 12-14, 5:30 PM-8:30 PM
SON Sport is a localized mission trip for the summer of 2021. CHBC wants to impact our neighbors and the nations. While reaching the nations in a personal way has been harder for the last year, that cannot diminish our reach to our own community. We are asking you to sign up yourself and your family to serve in the SON Sport Mission Trip. On this trip you will sleep in your own home, and all activities will occur at our church. We are inviting our community to bring their children to a free sports camp. We will teach basic levels of baseball, basketball, soccer, and volleyball. We will serve snacks, have devotions, and hear from some Christian professional and college athletes. You can sign up here: SON Sport
CHBC Worship for 5/23/21
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.
A few changes have occurred since the OKC Covid-19 mandates have expired. Seating in the CHBC Worship Center has been adjusted slightly. We are offering one section of seating that will be every other row, and where we encourage you to leave a three-chair gap between you and others. The remainder of the Worship Center will have normal seating. We will still be offering overflow viewing of the service in the Choir Suite, where seating is distanced. A face-covering is optional throughout the building.
Sunday School
We anticipate Sunday School classes beginning to meet in normal locations after the renovations from the flood are completed. After an update from the contractors, we plan to resume classes in normal locations beginning June 20, which will be Father’s Day. Thank you for your patience as we await the completion of all repairs, so that our Preschool can return to normal.
We are still providing this Sunday School material for those who are unable to attend in person due to Covid-19: Biblical Theology Lessons and Handout, from the Core Seminars at Capitol Hill Baptist in Washington DC.
EXPLORE CHBC (May 23 at 9 AM)
Explore CHBC is our membership orientation course. We invite all of our guests to participate in this once per quarter, three session class designed to help you know who we are, what we believe, and how we function as a local church. By the end of this course you will know what is expected of membership, and how to complete the process if you so desire. Our next Explore CHBC Course is May 23, 2021 at 9 AM and will meet in the CHBC Conference Room at the south end of the north-south hallway near the Preschool entrance.
Month of May Sunday Nights

Love Your Neighbor
Our first Love Your Neighbor outreach for the season will occur in the month of June. Would you use your home to host a neighborhood event so that you can begin the process of making strangers acquaintances, acquaintances friends, and friends family? Learn more at the tables in the foyer, or by contacting Henry or Keo Chan.
Ways to Give your Tithes and Offerings
A Moment in Church History
On May 20 or 21, 1527, anabaptist, Michael Sattler, was tortured and burned at the stake for his faith in Christ. His wife and several other Christian women were drowned on the same day. Learn more about church history here: Today in Church History.
Prayer
Pray for unity within the family of faith at CHBC.
Romans 15:5-6
“Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
