What is God’s Vision for CHBC?

No one who understands structural soundness argues about the importance of foundations. The foundation of the church is no less important. Not the physical foundation below the space the church meets in, but the foundation of the church itself. CHBC identifies three foundations upon which we know the church to be founded: The Centrality of Scripture, the Lordship of Christ, and the Glory of God. God being hailed by all of creation is why He established the church upon the earth. We exist to bring Him glory. It must undergird everything we do, or the ministry of the church fails to live up to God’s intent and design. 1 Cor. 10:31, “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Lord’s Supper – July 23, 10:15 AM Worship

As you prepare for worship this Sunday morning know that we will sharing in the Lord’s Supper. This is a moment for us to experience and express the gospel in our action together as a church. We eat and drink the elements of the Lord’s Supper as tangible reminders of salvation by the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

RedeemED is a region wide luncheon to encourage and equip educators. Administrators, staff, and faculty for public, private, and home school are all invited to register and attend this annual event created, hosted, and sponsored by Capitol Hill Baptist Church. The event will be held in the Activity Center at CHBC. Educators from Pre-K to Higher Ed can register online at RedeemED.

Aaron Project

The Aaron Project is a partner ministry for RedeemED. We want every educator who attends RedeemED to receive a personal prayer partner for the year. If you become an Aaron Project Prayer Partner you will receive a name and contact information for one of the registered educators. As a prayer partner you will receive a monthly reminder to pray for that educator. During the year you may want to reach out to them personally to seek prayer needs. If they express a need or request that you feel unable to meet, you should contact one of the pastors of the church, who will step in to figure out how to best address that need. You can register for the Aaron Project as a Prayer Partner through the CHBC website.

Scripture of the Month - July

Titus 2:11, “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,”

During 2023 CHBC will be saying aloud verses from the book of Titus 2. CHBC quotes Scripture aloud during our morning worship gathering. This is done for two reasons. First, we are commanded in Scripture to encourage one another with the Word of God. Second, we want to emphasize the spiritual discipline of Scripture memory. The goal of 2023 is for you to be able to quote the entire second chapter of the Epistle to Titus. Pick up your Scripture Memory card packs at the Resource Center outside the middle doors of the Worship Center.

What is God’s Vision for CHBC?

The Lordship of Christ is one of the 3 Piers upon the church is founded. Salvation is based on believing that Jesus Christ is Lord. You cannot love God without loving Christ. You cannot see God without seeing Christ. CHBC is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord. Who have you invited to join you for our weekly worship?
