God’s Vision for CHBC: 3 Piers, 3 Pillars, and 3 Purposes
3 Piers
Ephesians 1:12 says, “to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.” This is the end of a long sentence at the beginning of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. He is explaining that God’s plan of redemption being fulfilled through Christ, has as its aim the establishment of the church, which is to the praise of His glory. He has done all things for His glory, because He alone deserves all glory. Our greatest happiness is in His praise. Therefore, the church pursues its own happiness as it pursues God’s glory.
