God’s Vision for CHBC: 3 Piers, 3 Pillars, and 3 Purposes
3 Piers
There are three foundations upon which the church must be built. We might be able to argue for even more, but there cannot be less than these: The Centrality of the Scripture, The Lordship of Christ, and The Glory of God. Consider what it says in 1 Cor.8:6, “yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.” The church has come about by Him and exists through Him. He is literally the foundation of the church. It would be foolish to attempt to build the ministry of the church with means that would not bring Him honor and would not reflect rightly upon His name. Who Jesus is, what Jesus does, and what Jesus says should guide the motives and the means of the church.
