CHBC Connect for November 18, 2022

The Mission of CHBC – 3 Piers, 3 Pillars, and 3 Purposes
When CHBC speaks about its 3 Pillars, we are really talking about three convictions we hold in regards to how a church successfully functions. We believe the church should be Biblically-Modeled, Mission-Minded, and Multi-Cultural. The conviction to be Multi-Cultural means we intentionally seek relationships with people who are not just like us. The early church was a fellowship of Greeks, Romans, Jews, educated, uneducated, young, old, single, married, formerly religious and formerly pagan. They loved and served one another because of the blood of Christ, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, not because they were alike.

Pray for the Search Committee - Associate Pastor for Worship Ministries
Continue praying as our search committee collects resumes, reviews candidates, and seeks the Lord on behalf of the church. The work of calling a pastor deserves great attention, serious commitment to prayer, and a sensitivity to the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Project Angel Tree
The Women’s Ministry of CHBC is promoting Project Angel Tree. See the tree this Sunday, select a child to sponsor and help minister to a family in our community. Through Project Angel Tree you bless an incarcerated father or mother, as well as blessing the children they have left behind in the care of someone else. Learn more about Project Angel Tree on our website at CHBC.

Serve OBHC – Dec. 1
Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children is a ministry to moms and children who are coming out of crisis. As a ministry of Oklahoma Baptists we support this ministry through the Cooperative Program. These moms are given a place to live, counseling, training on life skills, and the chance to start over all in a gospel-centered environment. Skilled and trained administrators work with each mom to learn how to care for themselves and their children. On November 17 and December 1 the moms are given the chance to shop for Christmas in the OBHC Boutique. They just need help with childcare so the moms can shop. If you would be willing to assist on one of those nights please contact Susan DeMoss, Terry Davidson, or Tabitha Moon. If you do not know any of these people, contact the church office at 405-799-9799.

Scripture of the Month - November
2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” Each week CHBC says aloud a passage of Scripture during our morning worship gathering. This is done for two reasons. First, we are commanded in Scripture to encourage one another with the Word of God. Second, we want to emphasize the spiritual discipline of Scripture memory. Receive a text to your phone with this verse set to music by texting the word “CHBCVERSE” to the number (302) 207-SONG (7664).
