Worship at CHBC – A Reminder
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord. Extending the Gospel is one of the three purposes of CHBC. Do you present the gospel to your children as you parent? Is their gospel evidence of your changed life in your workplace? Does the gospel go to school with you? The gospel is not something we do or share. We are a product of the gospel. We should be a living Instagram post, or Tok-tok of the gospel. Please remember:
· Be aware of your own healthiness as you prepare to come to Sunday School and worship
· Worship with us online if you have fever, or a cough related to a virus
· While present wash your hands, do not touch your eyes, nose, or mouth
Ways to Give your Tithes and Offerings
· CHBC Giving Online – if you need assistance with online giving, please contact the church office at 405-799-9799 during regular office hours (8:30-4:30, M-T, and 8:30-12:30, F)
· During worship in the CHBC Offering Boxes
· Mail to 304 SW 134th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73170
· Drop off to Church Office during regular office hours at the mailing address above
August 15 – Sunday School Promotion
Each year at CHBC we make a special day out of the Sunday that our preschoolers, children, and youth move to a new grade level. That day is called Promotion Sunday. Those children and students will move to new classes on August 15. Sunday School always starts at 9 AM.
AWANA
AWANA Kick-Off Night will be on August 18 at 6 PM in the Activity Center. The first night of AWANA Clubs will be on August 25 at 6 PM. If you are a church member who has submitted to a background check, and completed our Ministry Safe Training, and would like to serve in AWANA please contact the church office, see Cheryl Ross, or see Tom Hollis. If you would like to serve, but need help in completing the above steps, please also contact the office, Cheryl, or Tom.

Churchwide Labor Day Picnic
September 5. 5-7 PM. Hamburgers and Hotdogs will be cooked onsite. Drinks will also be provided. Church members and guests please bring toppings, sides, and desserts. Activities will include sand volleyball, cornhole, softball, soccer, frisbees, and yard games.
Scripture of the Month
Each week CHBC says aloud a passage of Scripture during our morning worship gathering. This is done for two reasons. First, we are commanded in Scripture to encourage one another with the Word of God. Second, we want to emphasize the spiritual discipline of Scripture memory. The Scripture we will say and memorize for the month of July is 1 John 2:15-17, “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.” You can receive a text to your phone with this verse set to music by texting the word “CHBCVERSE” to the number (302) 207-SONG (7664).
A Moment in Church History
On August 12, 1812, Archibald Alexander become the first professor of theology at Princeton University. Like all of the first universities in America, Princeton had been founded to train pastors and missionaries for the advancement of the gospel. Prayer
CHBC pray for one another to glorify God clearly and rightly with their whole lives. We do not belong to ourselves, but to God and to one another. Pray we live as though that is true.
