CHBC Weekly July 16, 2021
Worship at CHBC
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord. People worshipping Jesus. That is our desire and intent. It is the goal of our evangelism, of our teaching, and of our gathered worship service. Join us this Lord’s Day to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.
Lord’s Supper – This Sunday AM Worship Service
As you enter the worship center, please stop to receive the elements for the Lord’s Supper as you enter the Worship Center. One of our deacons will be in the foyer with a basket of pre-packaged bread and drink. Take that into the service with you as we will observe together the Lord’s Supper during our time of worship.
Women’s Ministry Brunch – July 17 @ 10 AM
The brunch begins at 10 AM and will be held at the CHBC Activity Center. Spend some time in fellowship and learning about the new opportunities this fall. Follow this link to sign up for the brunch.
RedeemED and the Aaron Project
Two years ago, CHBC launched an initiative to redeem the education of children. The goal is to encourage Christian teachers, administrators, and staff in public, private, and homeschools to use their platform to bring the gospel into the lives of their students, families, and colleagues. RedeemED is an annual luncheon and seminar on the first Monday of August and is open to anyone who works in the field of education. One of the ways we support these educators throughout the year is through the prayer support of the Aaron Project. The Aaron holds up the arms of the educator through prayer and words of affirmation throughout the year. Have you signed up for RedeemED or to be an Aaron? You can do so here: RedeemED and the Aaron Project
CHBC Men’s and Women’s Ministries
An active and vibrant men’s and women’s ministry in the local church does three things. First, it recognizes what creation reveals, that there are two genders who equal in God’s eyes while unique in design, function, and roles. Second, men’s and women’s ministries allow a place for Bible study, fellowship, and accountability to be shared among those who experience the same joys, trials, and temptations that are unique to being male and female. Third, it encourages the unique function and gifts of men and women to be used for the church in a way that blesses the entire family of faith.
Find out more about what is going on in men’s and women’s ministries by visiting their separate pages on the CHBC website: CHBC Men’s Ministry and CHBC Women’s Ministry.

Scripture of the Month
Each week CHBC says aloud a passage of Scripture during our morning worship gathering. This is done for two reasons. First, we are commanded in Scripture to encourage one another with the Word of God. Second, we want to emphasize the spiritual discipline of Scripture memory. The Scripture we will say and memorize for the month of July is 1 Corinthians 15:57-58, “but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” You can receive a text to your phone with this verse set to music by texting the word “CHBCVERSE” to the number (302) 207-SONG (7664).
A Moment in Church History
On July 15, 1852, the first missionaries sent from the Hawaiian Islands set sail into the Pacific. King Kamehameha III wrote letter to all the chiefs of the islands of the Pacific urging them to receive the missionaries kindly, renounce idols, and worship the true and living God. Prayer
CHBC pray for humility to receive God’s Word as we read it daily, and as we hear it taught and preached on Sunday.
James 1:21
“Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.”
Mark D. DeMoss, Senior Pastor
