Pastor Mark's Weekly Update August 8 ,2019

RedeemED & The Aaron Project
We do not have the final attendance numbers yet, but we know 249 educators registered for RedeemED. I have been told that every teacher requesting a prayer partner will have one assigned. RedeemED was covered by local television news, and the Daily Oklahoman. I am so proud of CHBC in how you served the teachers. We have provided prayer partners through the Aaron Project, we had volunteers to decorate, serve lunch, serve desserts, serve as greeters, and provide security. CHBC showed your hospitality, and I am grateful to serve alongside of you for kingdom causes.
Consider this: if 200 teachers walked away from RedeemED, and are supported by prayer, and if those 200 teachers have on average 30 students they interact with this school year, that is 6,000 students that our investment into RedeemED will impact. 6,000 students who have a teacher who is praying for them, who have a teacher that is interested in their spiritual life, and 6,000 students who will see a living example of Christ this year. Thank you for investing in Redeemed!

Camp Big Enough
Camp Big Enough is our way of helping families transition their children from Extended Teaching Care to worship in “Big Church”. This transition can be traumatic for some 4-year old’s, and some families. We want that process to be smooth. Cheryl Ross, our Preschool and Children’s Ministry Director, does a great job of equipping parents with tools needed to help both the parents and the child to see this as a positive experience. Camp Big Enough will be held Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 8:30 AM in the Preschool. A small breakfast and a short training session will occur just prior to the start of Sunday School.

AWANA
CHBC is a church committed to equipping believers, exalting Christ and extending the gospel. AWANA fits our strategy very well. Children are being trained weekly to accurately handle the word of God, being shown how love Jesus, learning about missions, and being given the opportunity to bring lost friends to church. If you have a child that in preschool through 6th grade you need to seriously consider bringing them to AWANA each Wednesday night. The Kick-off Party is the night of registration on August 21, 2019 at 6 PM. AWANA is also an excellent way for you to serve in the church. You can find out more about serving in AWANA by visiting with Tom Hollis, Jerry Cusack, or Cheryl Ross, or by attending the AWANA Training Session on Wednesday, August 14 at 6 PM

CHBC Explore
September 8, 15, 22 at 9 AM in the Conference Room.
CHBC Explore is the membership orientation class for CHBC. We have the conviction that membership matters. Because of that conviction we want each member to be fully acquainted with who we are, what we believe, and how to engage in life with CHBC. As a guest you are invited to see what it means to be a church committed to equipping, exalting and extending for the glory of God. The next CHBC Explore Classes will begin on September 8 at 9 AM. The class will occur three consecutive Sundays at 9 AM in the conference room.

 Resolved
“Resolved, never to count that a prayer, nor to let that pass as a prayer, nor that as a petition of a prayer, which is so made, that I cannot hope that God will answer it; nor that as a confession, which I cannot hope God will accept.” (Edwards, 1723) Jesus said in Matthew 21:22, “And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Believe in God so much that you pray with abandon and with boldness. Confident of God’s love, and confident of God’s ability. Not presuming He must answer as you ask, but that He will answer according to His ability, His glory, and His goodness.
