Personal Discipleship Resources
CHBC Family and Friends,

If your email inbox and social media accounts are anything like mine, they are flooded with information. I am getting daily information from my kids two different schools, I am receiving work information, sales ads, health updates, news media reports, and church updates. In fact some of you have already deleted this email, or stopped reading to look for the bold print or link to click.
If you are still reading, then take note of this. Around the world divorces are on the rise, crisis hotline calls are skyrocketing, alcohol, drug, and pornography use are all on the rise. Crisis and stress drive us to God or away from God. James 1:2-4, “2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
If you have been thinking that this shelter-at-home time is a good opportunity for you to re-connect with God, or to deepen your relationship with God, then do not let the window close before you get started. As discussions have begun on “getting back to normal”, we should be thankful and excited, but do not let “normal” rob you of you the opportunity for renewed spiritual intentionality. I am including a couple of resources to encourage your discipleship, and to help you keep thinking about how the COVID-19 crisis has impacted us spiritually.
