CHBC,

As Governor Stitt’s plan moves into Phase III, we as a church are responding by continuing to add back to our normal activities, and to adjust worship opportunities. Our Re-Gathering Plan has been updated, and we are excited to share those updates with you. You can read the updates to the CHBC Re-Gathering Plan in this attachment: CHBC Re-Gathering Updates.  Here are a few highlights:

  • Morning Worship Service at 10 AM – not 10:15 AM – 10 AM!
  • During this worship service we will honor physical distancing
  • Overflow seating will be provided in other rooms in the church for those who may be uncomfortable in the larger gathering
  • RSVP at this link: RSVP for CHBC Re-Gathering (this is to help us prepare the proper seating in the worship center and overflow rooms)
  • ETC care will resume this week (ETC is for children 3 years and younger) during the worship service
  • Spanish-speaking morning worship at Noon
  • Evening worship service will resume this week at 5 PM and will include ETC
  • Summer Wednesday programming will start on June 10

We are aware that the department of health and the Governor’s task force on re-opening is still encouraging those who are 65 years of age or older, and those who are considered in an at risk category to avoid large group gatherings. If you fit one of these categories, we want to honor you and respect your decision on whether you should attend in person or not. If you have had any symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home and follow the guidelines of the Oklahoma Department of Health.

This Week’s At Home Wednesday Devotions

Below is access to Wednesday night devotional material for you to engage in a midweek time of Bible Study. Summer Wednesday activities will being next week, June 10, for children, students and adults. The Student Ministry is having a live gathering in the south field tonight, June 3.

Wednesday Devotional Tools

  1. Family Devotions entitled, “Seeing Jesus through the Uncertainty”.  These family devotions are provided by the North American Mission Board of the SBC.  Many parents have asked us how to discuss the virus and its impact on our world with their children.  These devotions are designed to do just that.  Use these for Wednesday, Sunday morning, or a weekly family devotion another night of the week.  You can access and download these lessons by clicking this link: Family Devotions from NAMB.
  2. Connect Group Questions – these are in the form of an attachment; we use these in our adult Wednesday nights, but could be used as a discussion points for a couple, a family, or any small group you gather via Zoom, skype or Facetime.  Consider inviting some others to join you in one of these virtual ways to think more about Pastor Mark’s sermon from Matthew 5 this past Sunday.
  3. Join Pastor Tyler on Facebook Live tonight at 7:30 for his Worship Ministry Devotional: https://www.facebook.com/chbcokc/
