There is a lot happening this summer at Capitol Hill Baptist Church! Read below to find out more information about upcoming events at CHBC.
Fundamentals of the Faith Sermon Series
This sermon series will help us all know what God intends to be the fundamentals of the Christian faith. Starting with the significance of believer’s baptism and ending with every believer’s ministry God has planned for them. These eight sermons will help an unbeliever understand what is foundational to the Christian faith and encourage every believer on their journey of faith. Pastor Mark will be joined by two guest preachers over the 8-week series.
Equip Classes
CHBC exists to glorify God by equipping believers, exalting Christ, and extending the gospel. Equipping is another way to say we want to take seriously the mandate to make disciples. Discipleship is a process of thinking and acting like Jesus more every day. That means we need to think about how the Bible addresses our lives in different seasons and different circumstances.
Equip Classes have been our way of addressing life stage or life issue needs that Christians are facing each and every day. This year, our equip classes will be the last three Sunday nights of July and the first three Sunday nights of August. All of the classes will begin at 5 PM. Class titles, teachers, dates, and locations will be available on signage, on the website, and on social media. Or you can save an image of this chart on your phone, tablet, or computer for reference. Join an equip classes by simply attending.
Members' Meeting
CHBC is a congregational church. Once each quarter we have a regularly scheduled Members’ Meeting during which time we hear from appointed committees or teams to be informed or to make decisions based on their recommendations. It is also when we deal with matters of membership and receive a report on our finances. We encourage every member to be present during Members’ Meetings to be involved in this crucial aspect of local church membership. The next meeting is July 27 at 6 PM in the Worship Center, following the evening Equip Classes.
