by Pastor Mark DeMoss on June 06, 2025

There is a lot happening this summer at Capitol Hill Baptist Church! Read below to find out more information about upcoming events at CHBC.

Theology for the Church

Most Sunday nights at 4 PM CHBC offers this series of classes that dives deeper into specific areas of theology. Every Christian is a theologian, and we want to help you better understand God and His Word. The teachers for these studies are Dylan Barber, Bryce Schmidt, and Daniel Suttle.

The Pursuit of Holiness

The Young Adult Ministry at CHBC offers this weeknight Bible study for single or married young adults. This study meets in the home of Jake Cribbs who facilities the fellowship and discussion for the group. The current study is centered around developing a life of holiness. For more information about the study or how to find Jake’s home email Jake at  .

The Engagement Project

This study on Wednesday nights this summer is a part of the Truth Project series by Del Tacket. The Engagement Project attempts to answer who is God, who are we, and why are we still here? Do you want to learn how to engage God, His Word, and the World? Join us each Wednesday this summer from 6-7 PM in Room 206.

Gospel of John

The Student Ministry meets every Wednesday night at 6 PM for fellowship, worship, preaching, and small groups. The current preaching series for our students is a study in the Gospel of John, as they learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus, by learning from His life and teachings. All students 7-12th grade are welcome. To find out more visit the Student Ministry tab on the website or send an email to  .

Bible Fair for CHBC Kids

Join us this Summer on Wednesday nights as CHBC Kids hosts a Bible Fair! During the Bible Faith kids will research a person or a topic and create a display about what they have learned. Begins on May 28th in the Activity Center from 6 PM to 7 PM. Contact Tom Hollis for more information.

Father's Day Men's Choir

One of our new traditions at CHBC in celebrating Father’s Day is to have an all-men’s choir on that Sunday morning. This is just another way that men at CHBC serve the church. Healthy churches are made up of men who lead their families in in the worship of God.

The Pursuit of God

On Thursday nights the College Ministry of CHBC gathers for their weeknight Bible Study at the home of Jason and Jennifer Crosby. The night is given to fellowship, authentic relationships, and accountability. If you are in college, or are just college age, this group is for you. The current study is focused on how young people can live a life in pursuit of God. For more information about College Ministry visit the website or email Jason Crosby at  .

Little River Park Community Outreach

Living Faith Ministries Outreach

Living Faith was founded with a deep passion for helping men overcome their past mistakes and addictions. Living Faith extends forgiveness, grace, and hope to men in need. The purpose of Living Faith is to see transformation in the lives of men who have been incarcerated by providing comprehensive support and fostering a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They equip formerly incarcerated men with the practical skills, spiritual guidance, and supportive community needed to reintegrate into society successfully so they may begin to live fulfilling and productive lives. We have been coming alongside Living Faith Ministries by providing a meal once every other month for their Tuesday night worship services. We provide the food, the worship music, and the preaching for the evening.

Third Thursday Adult Bible Study

This adult Bible Study for our older adult ministry at CHBC happens every month on the 3rd Thursday. We are focused on reminding those who are 60+ how to have vibrant relationship with Christ, ways to serve the church, how to reach the community, and the importance of fellowship and relationship. Join us this month as we sing together, look at what the Bible says about how our relationships are significant in our spiritual growth and the sharing of the gospel, take on a service project for the church, and then have lunch together.

Utah Mission Trip

20 adults and children will be going to Utah this summer to lead a children’s outreach for Valley Christian Fellowship. This is the third year in our partnership with this church as they attempt to share the gospel in the heart of Mormonism. Pray for our team as they plan, prepare, and travel to Utah to share Jesus boldly.

Student Ministry SNAC: Sunday Night After Church

Sunday Night After Church is a fellowship of our Student Ministry that occurs monthly throughout the year. Following the evening worship service 7th-12th grade students have a time to play games, eat snacks, and just hang out together. Sponsored by the Student Ministry these SNAC’s are designed to foster unity and relationships. This month the SNAC is at the home of John and Joni Sherrer. Directions to their home will be provided to those who are at church on Sunday night, June 22, or you can call the church office at (405) 799-9799.
