  1. What is the purpose of this capital campaign?

This campaign aims to raise $150,000 to fund necessary maintenance and improvements for our existing facilities. These projects will help to sustain CHBC’s ability to equip, exalt, and extend while preparing for an expansion of facilities in Part 2.

  1. What specific projects will be funded by this campaign?

The funds will go toward replacement of aging HVAC units, new flooring in Solomon’s Porch, exterior signage, interior painting, a new lawn mower, scissor lift, landscaping, and striping of the parking lot. These improvements address current facility needs that support our church’s ministries.

  1. How were these specific projects selected and prioritized?

Church leadership, in consultation with staff and ministry leaders, identified the most pressing needs based on facility usage and ministry impact. These projects were prioritized to ensure the best use of resources while preparing for the larger expansion plans of Vision Forward-Part 2.

  1. How have we funded these types of projects in the past?

In the past, we have relied on a monthly budgeted contingency, designated giving, and occasional church-approved transfers from the General Fund to fund the Capital Needs designated fund. However, due to the size and urgency of these projects, paired with current economic pressures, a dedicated capital campaign ensures we can complete these projects without impacting our ongoing ministries.

  1. How does this campaign fit into the church’s long-term vision?

This is the first phase of a larger near-term vision for CHBC. These improvements will prepare us for the future building expansion being explored by CHBC’s Building Committee, which will provide expanded Student Ministry worship and education space, dedicated Children’s Ministry Space, interior and exterior Gathering space, and a large Welcome entrance from the south parking lot.

  1. How will my contribution be used?

Each gift designated to Vision Forward – Part 1 will go directly toward the Vision Forward – Part 1 projects listed. Regular updates will be provided to ensure transparency in how funds are spent.

  1. How can I make a financial commitment?

We encourage members to prayerfully consider their commitment and submit a pledge card. Pledges can be made as a one-time gift or as scheduled contributions over the course of the campaign.

  1. How do I make payments toward my pledge?

You can give through various methods, including:

  • Online giving via the church website
  • Check (designated for Vision Forward – Part 1)
  • Cash (designated for Vision Forward – Part 1)
  1. What happens if we exceed the $150,000 goal?

Up to $50,000 of giving that exceeds Vision Forward – Part 1 will be moved to the Capital Needs Designated Fund. Any donations that exceed $200,000 for Vision Forward – Part 1, will be moved to the Building Fund, which will be seed money for Vision Forward – Part 2.

  1. How does this campaign impact our regular church budget?

The capital campaign is separate from our regular operating budget. It is important for the church to realize that this campaign is above and beyond regular tithing that sustains ongoing ministries and missions.

  1. Is my contribution tax-deductible?

Yes, all contributions to the campaign are tax-deductible. Donations will be reflected in your year end giving statements.

  1. When will the projects begin and be completed?

Projects will begin as funds are received. The CHBC Buildings and Grounds Team, the church staff, and the Budget and Finance Committee will confer regularly on what dollars have been received, and which projects can be begun and completed.

  1. Will I receive updates on the progress of the giving campaign and projects?

Yes! Regular updates will be provided through church announcements, emails, and bulletin reports so you can see how your contributions are making a difference.

  1. How can I get involved beyond financial giving?

In addition to giving, you can support the campaign through prayer, workdays, and helping promote awareness.

  1. Who can I talk to if I have more questions?

The following people will be happy to provide more details:
