God’s Vision for CHBC: 3 Piers, 3 Pillars, and 3 Purposes
3 Piers
The Glory of God, the Lordship of Christ, and the Centrality of the Scriptures. These are foundational to the existence of Capitol Hill Baptist Church. We firmly plant ourselves on these unshakable truths. Jesus Christ is Lord is the essential profession of a believing Christian (Rom. 10:9-10). The eternal nature of Jesus, the incarnation of Jesus, His sinless life, substitutionary death, and bodily resurrection attest to His Lordship. The church exists because believers gather in obedience each Sunday to declare Jesus is Lord. Songs faithfully sung by the church have Christ as their aim. The Bible rightly preached has Christ as the central figure. Prayers humbly lifted are prayed in the name of Jesus. He is Lord. And CHBC knows we can do nothing apart from Him (John 15:5).
