Sunday School Resources for March 28, 2021

Sunday School groups at CHBC are strategically designed for teaching, outreach, and ministry. Sunday School Teachers teach people the Bible, but they also facilitate ministry care between church members. It is in our small groups that we learn about one another’s needs, and where we can effectively strategize to meet those needs, or to gather in prayer for God to meet our needs.

If you will not be joining us in person because of COVID-19, we have this provision for you to keep studying at home. If you would like us to get your Sunday School material to you for at home study, please contact us at 405.799.9799. We are still including as an attachment to this email a printable version of the study from Capitol Hill Baptist in Washington DC, for those of you who were using that material, or for those who would like to begin using that study.

CHBC Worship for 3/21/21
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.

The church is a people who have been saved by faith in Christ and are covenanted together to carry out the proclamation of the word of God, the participation in the church ordinances, and the practice of church discipline. Why do we make such a big deal about preaching the Bible? Wouldn’t more people “attend church” if we did something more entertaining on Sundays? The gathering of believers is not to be entertained, or to try to entertain someone else. When the church gathers it is to be reminded of the grace of the gospel, which pours out of the pages of Holy Scripture. A Christian is sustained by the gospel, just like our bodies need air to breathe, and food to eat.

If you are not able to attend in person worship this week, please join us for our worship service by live stream through the CHBC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/chbcokc/.  We are providing seating in the Activity Center for Sunday School and Worship services, and we are asking that any who attend in the Activity Center wear a face covering.

In the Worship Center we are continuing to seat by physically distancing (seating every other row and leaving a 3-chair gap between family units, as well as taking extra steps in cleaning and sanitizing. You are more than welcome to wear a face covering at all times.

A Moment in Church History
On March 18, 1980: A group of Muslim students attack a Christian student at the University of Alexandria, in Egypt. They tell him to renounce his faith in Christ or be killed. He refuses and then beat him until he is unconscious, and with a broken arm. You can read more about what has happened in church history here:  Today in Church History.

Prayer
Thank God for His faithfulness today to you, and for others.
Romans 15:13
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
