CHBC Re-Gathering – October 11, 2020
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.
The church is people who have been born again, baptized, and covenant together to meet regularly for the preaching of God’s Word, praising God together, praying to God, participating in the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and practicing church discipline. The church does this through gospel love for one another and in true unity through the Holy Spirit, as an ongoing witness to the world. We all think the world needs change and hope. Church, we are that picture of hope, and that testimony of change. Let us meet Sunday as a witness to the world.
If you gather with us in person know that we are physically distancing and sanitizing. You are more than welcome to wear a face covering in order to protect others. Please RSVP, especially if you will be using ETC (Extended Teaching Care for 3 years and younger). The RSVP helps us be prepared for overflow seating, for children in ETC, and for seating in the Worship Center. Thank you for understanding the need to physically distance and to RSVP. Click the link to go the CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP page on the website: CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP. If you forget to RSVP or you meet someone you want to invite to worship with us, please still attend and do not worry about telling them how to RSVP. We will accommodate everyone either in the main Worship Center or in our overflow rooms.
Sunday School
CHBC is currently Re-Grouping into Sunday School. Each class begins at 9 AM. You can read the Re-Grouping Plan for Sunday School here: CHBC Sunday School Re-Grouping. Ekklesia in the Park
This Sunday night we will have our evening gathering (Ekklesia) at Little River Park. Please enter off of 149th/19th Street on Eagle Drive, go north until 10th Street, then go east to the park. We are gathering outdoors in our community to not only have church but be the church. We will play, sing, have a short devotion, and then just interact with those who are present, as well as take material to homes in the neighborhood inviting them to visit our church and to follow Jesus.
Midweek Prayer Gathering – Each Wednesday at 6 PM
Each Wednesday night at 6 PM will be times of prayer. This church family prayer gathering will be available for any who are not serving or participating in AWANA. Join us in room 221 for a time of prayer.
Quotes from Church History

Prayer
You and I, the church, are His witnesses. Be boldly faithful to God and His word, as was our example today of Martin Luther.
Isaiah 43:11-12
“I, even I, am the Lord, and there is no savior besides Me. “It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed, and there was no strange god among you; so, you are My witnesses,” declares the Lord, “And I am God.”
