CHBC Re-Gathering – June 21, 2020
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.

Why are we still using an RSVP for church? While much of the state is re-opening to more normal function, large gatherings can still be dangerous to our most vulnerable population (those who are 65 years of age or older, or those who have underlying health issues). It is loving of us to allow physical distancing to our whole population to continue following the guidelines for large group gatherings, and to avoid groups in small spaces, like Sunday School classrooms. Therefore, the RSVP helps us prepare for ETC (Extended Teaching Care for 3 years and younger) and for seating in the Worship Center and overflow rooms. Thank you for understanding the need to physically distance and to RSVP. Click the link to go the CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP page on the website: CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP.  And click here to read the CHBC Re-Gathering Plan and Update.

Sunday School
Until we are able to meet for Sunday School, the staff of CHBC will continue to provide access to Sunday School material you can use in your home, or for your virtual Sunday School gatherings. If asked to login, simply create your own account.

Summer Wednesdays
CHBC midweek activities for June to mid-August. Please join us and invite your friends.

  • Preschool Summer Wednesday will meet in the Preschool Village
  • Children’s Summer Wednesday will meet in the Activity Center
  • Student Ministry will meet outside (weather permitting) or in Solomon’s Porch
  • Adult Summer Wednesday will meet in the Worship Center (Blueprints for a Biblical Marriage will be the study topic)

VBS, Camps and More
CHBC is glad to be planning normal activities for our children and students to enjoy during the summer. While the plans may be a little different this year, we will be offering VBS, Children’s Camp, and Student Camp. See our promotional ads, and website for details of dates and costs.

Prayer
As we prepare for Father’s Day as a national holiday in America, let us please pray for fathers and families, and for biblical parenting as insulation against the social sins that plague our world.

Ephesians 6:4

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Discipleship Resources - June 18, 2020

CHBC,

Each week we have attempted to bring you additional personal resources to further your thinking and spiritual growth during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This week in addition to some general resources we want to help you think about the racial tension of our nation and the controversy surround Black Lives Matter. Please use these resources to your benefit and the glory of God.  And remember 1 Corinthians13:13, “13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” (KJV) Charity is defined in Webster’s 1828 Dictionary as, “In a general sense, love, benevolence, good will; that disposition of heart which inclines men to think favorably of their fellow man, and to do them good. In a theological sense, it includes supreme love to God, and universal good will to men.”
