Lottie Moon Christmas Offerings
Have you dropped off your cards at the Lottie Moon Post Office? Have you checked to see if you have any cards to pick up? If you are not in the building on a Sunday, just call the church office and we can send them to you, or you can stop by during the week to drop off or pick up. Your gifts to Lottie Moon, the Southern Baptist International Mission Board offering, are all spent on the mission field. The cooperative efforts of Baptists around the world empowers the greatest mission’s agency in America. You can give by designating an online gift, or your check to either Lottie Moon, or World Missions Offering. The post office will be available from December 6 through the end of the year. You can find the post office in the main hall near the entry to the Preschool Victory Village. To give follow this link: Missions. Choose either World Missions or Lottie Moon.

Angel Tree
We have sponsored more than 50 children at this point! And Angel Tree has given us the names of several more children you can sponsor. Angel Tree is a ministry started by Chuck Colson and Prison Fellowship to provide Christmas presents to the children of people who are incarcerated. The point of Angel Tree is to keep a bridge between the incarcerated parent and their children, while sharing the gospel with both the prisoner and the child. Prison Fellowship has requirements for inmates to qualify and works with the caregivers of the children. To sponsor a child through CHBC and Angel Tree follow this URL: https://tinyurl.com/chbcokcangeltree2020, and enter the code: TTOYE. Watch this video to learn more: Angel Tree

CHBC Re-Gathering – December 13, 2020
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.

Luke 2:10 says, “And so the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;’”. Good news for all the people. This is the Christmas message. We have a gospel that is available to all and effective to everyone who believes in Jesus Christ. And this is a good news that is to be told to the world. CHBC exists to glorify God by extending the gospel. To whom have you extended the good news to this week?

We are currently offering our weekly service by live stream through the CHBC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/chbcokc/.  We are also providing seating in the Activity Center for Sunday School and Worship services, and we are asking that any who attend in the Activity Center wear a face covering.

If you gather with us in the Worship Center know that we are physically distancing and sanitizing. You are more than welcome to wear a face covering at all times. Please RSVP, especially if you will be using ETC (Extended Teaching Care for 3 years and younger). The RSVP helps us be prepared for overflow seating, for children in ETC, and for seating in the Worship Center. Thank you for understanding the need to physically distance and to RSVP. Click the link to go the CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP page on the website: CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP.  If you forget to RSVP or you meet someone you want to invite to worship with us, please still attend and do not worry about telling them how to RSVP. We will accommodate everyone either in the main Worship Center or in our overflow rooms.

Christmas Drive-Thru Fellowship – December 17, 2020 from 6:30 – 7:30 PM
On Thursday evening, December 17, the CHBC staff wants to host you to a drive-thru church-wide fellowship. We encourage you to drive through the church parking lot where we will have Christmas music, serve hot chocolate, and have a gift for each car that drives by. Encourage your kids to make a Merry Christmas sign for us and others to see. Many of our regular holiday gatherings have had to be cancelled for this year, but we wanted a way to have our whole church participate in something together.

Christmas Activities for CHBC

  • December 13 at 5 PM – Christmas Night of Worship
  • December 17 at 6:30 – Christmas Drive-Thru Fellowship for CHBC
  • December 24 at 5 PM – Christmas Eve Service

Sunday School
CHBC is currently Re-Grouping into Sunday School. Each class begins at 9 AM. You can read the Re-Grouping Plan for Sunday School here: CHBC Sunday School Re-Grouping. There are some changes to where groups meet, so please read the plan carefully. Lifeway has changed the way they are providing online resources. We have determined it is no longer cost effective to provide links to online Sunday School. However, we will continue to offer a printable curriculum from CHBC in Washington DC, and we can provide our Sunday School Literature to you by mail or can drop it by your home. Please let us know if you would like a print version of the Lifeway curriculum from your Sunday School class for home use.

Quotes from Church History
Lottie Moon: “How many there are ... who imagine that because Jesus paid it all, they need pay nothing, forgetting that the prime object of their salvation was that they should follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ in bringing back a lost world to God.” Lottie Moon (1840-1912, Baptist Missionary to China)

CHBC Re-Gathering December 13, 2020

CHBC,
We are Re-Gathering physically as well as continuing our live streaming for services, and Sunday School opportunities for home use. We want the church to remain connected to God and to one another, and to have the choice to do that in the way they feel most safe. Please take note of how we are Re-Gathering and Re-Grouping for weekly services. All the information you need should be here. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of your pastors, or the church office. Sunday services include both Sunday School and Corporate Worship. Sunday School groups gather at 9 AM. We have adjusted how and where some of our groups meet, but we are thankful to be able to provide the opportunity. Using the RSVP on our website is still important to help prepare our preschool for ETC (Extended Teaching Care) during the Worship Service, and for staff to prepare for proper overflow seating. You should read the CHBC Re-Grouping Plan to understand what is expected, and to know where each group will be meeting. If you are unable to join us in person, please know that we will still be providing at home Sunday School resources for you and your family.

What You and I Should Do:
  • Read the Sunday School Re-Grouping Plan
  • Watch your health and be aware of any symptoms – do not attend in person if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Join us online at the CHBC Facebook page
  • If you have had direct contact with anyone who tested positive for COVID-19, follow the current health department guidelines for self-quarantine, then please worship with us online at the CHBC Facebook page.
  • Wash hands frequently, or use one of the conveniently located hand-sanitizing stations
  • Do not touch nose, eyes, or mouth
  • Keep a six-foot distance between yourself and others while talking
  • Remember that smiles and waves can communicate a warm greeting just as much as a handshake or a hug
  • Use the outside space if you desire to linger or mingle in fellowship with others before or after services
  • Use extra caution if interacting with those who are 65 years of age or older, or people who have compromised immune systems
  • Consider the use of a face covering inside the building where physical distancing might not be possible to maintain (foyer, hallways, etc.)
  • RSVP. This helps our Preschool Ministry be prepared to care for you, your children, and our guests. Your RSVP also helps us be prepared for the need for overflow seating.
RSVP Here (RSVP is for worship and ETC only, but please use this link if you plan to attend Worship or utilize ETC)

Sunday Re-Gathering for December 13, 2020
If you forget to RSVP you are still welcome to attend, or to bring a guest, just be aware that those who arrive late may need to be seated in overflow
