CHBC Re-Gathering – June 7, 2020
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.

There are several exciting changes for the month of June as we progress in Re-Gathering. Please read those updates here: CHBC Re-Gathering Update. From there you will also be able to go to the link where you can RSVP for the English-speaking service and ETC needs on Sunday. Your RSVP is only for this Sunday, June 7. We will need to RSVP each week for services until we can Re-Gather without restrictions. You can go directly to the RSVP link here: RSVP for CHBC Re-Gathering.

Sunday School
Until we are able to meet for Sunday School, the staff of CHBC will continue to provide access to Sunday School material you can use in your home, or for your virtual Sunday School gatherings.

Summer Wednesdays
As CHBC attempts to Re-Gain the normal rhythm of ministry and discipleship, Summer Wednesday programming will begin on June 10. Student Ministry, Preschool and Children’s Ministry, and Adult Mid-week will all resume. While we will be observant of physical distancing, each group will have the opportunity for Bible Study and fellowship.

  • Preschool Summer Wednesday will meet in the Preschool Village
  • Children’s Summer Wednesday will meet in the Activity Center
  • Student Ministry will meet outside (weather permitting) or in Solomon’s Porch
  • Adult Summer Wednesday will meet in the Worship Center (Blueprints for a Biblical Marriage will be the study topic)

Prayer
Spend a moment in prayer thanking God for His sovereign rule over all of creation that helps us find hope and meaning in times of personal, national, and global crisis.

1 Chronicles 29:11

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.

Quotes from Church History
Jonathan Edwards on God: ““God is the highest good of the reasonable creature. The enjoyment of him is our proper; and is the only happiness with which our souls can be satisfied. To go to heaven, fully to enjoy God, is infinitely better than the most pleasant accommodations here. Better than fathers and mothers, husbands, wives, or children, or the company of any, or all earthly friends. These are but shadows; but the enjoyment of God is the substance. These are but scattered beams; but God is the sun. These are but streams; but God is the fountain. These are but drops, but God is the ocean.” Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758, Pastor and Theologian)

CHBC Re-Gathering – Week 2 (May 24, 2020)
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.

Please read the details of the CHBC Re-Gathering Plan by visiting this link: CHBC Re-Gathering. From there you will also be able to go to the link where you can RSVP for one of the two English-speaking services on Sunday. Your RSVP is only for this Sunday, May 24. We will need to RSVP each week for services until we can Re-Gather without restrictions. You can go directly to the RSVP link here: RSVP for CHBC Re-Gathering.

Sunday School
When will we have Sunday School Groups again? While we cannot answer that question yet, we can provide you with resources to use while you are at home. You may even want to invite another person or family to your home to do Sunday School with you. Until the time we can re-group for Sunday School, we will continue to give you materials for Sunday School.

Prayer
Spend a moment in prayer asking God to bring spiritual awakening to your family, friends, neighbors, and the nations.

Ephesians 1:18-21

18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

Quotes from Church History
B.B. Warfield on Salvation: “We have but one Saviour; and that one Saviour is Jesus Christ our Lord. Nothing that we are and nothing that we can do enters in the slightest measure into the ground of our acceptance with God. Jesus did it all.” B.B. Warfield (1851-1921, Professor of Theology at Princeton Seminary)
