AWANA Grand Prix
Wood, sawdust, graphite, hot lead, and paint…Parents, Grandparents, and children…Hotdogs, ribbons, trophies, and games.  All of these things are part of an AWANA Grand Prix.  But none of these are the reason to have an AWANA Grand Prix.  CHBC hosts the AWANA Grand Prix in order to build relationships with guests of the church, and to present the gospel in word and deed.  Even if you do not have a child who would be racing a car, please come, be hospitable, and show the love of Christ.  The Grand Prix is Wednesday, February 26, 2020.  Dinner begins at 5:15 PM.

Ordination Service – March 1, 2020
CHBC is planning to ordain Jason Crosby on the evening of March 1, 2020.  The ordination council will meet during the afternoon at 3:30 PM.  Any ordained ministers or deacons of CHBC are invited to participate in the council, and in the laying on of hands that will occur during the ordination service.  Jason has been preparing for ordination the last year and has completed the preliminary process in order to be considered for ordination.  All are invited to attend the service that will take place at 5 PM.

CHBC Student Ministry – Winter Retreat
Friday, February 21, 2020 at 6 PM our Student Ministry will leave for Falls Creek for their annual Winter Retreat.  Why should students retreat?  Our Lord and Savior would occasionally escape away to commune more closely with the Heavenly Father.  Our students will be getting away for about 27 hours in order to commune with God.  During these critical hours we should be in prayer for our students that they would see Christ and savor Him more deeply.  Pray for Pastor Jason, and Alex Meyer as they lead this trip.  Pray for Pablo Villa and Caitlyn Crosby as he preaches, and she leads in times of worship.  May this be the start of a spiritual awakening in our student ministry and church.

Quotes from Church History
“Whenever you put happiness before righteousness, you will be doomed to misery. That is the great message of the Bible from beginning to end. They alone are truly happy who are seeking to be righteous.” – D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones (1899-1981, Physician and Minister in England)

Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies
Why does CHBC offer Bible studies specific for men and women apart from Sunday School? We believe that offering Bible study opportunities throughout the week in open groups allows people greater opportunity for service and discipleship. These groups meet at a variety of times, and in a variety of locations with the attempt to meet the varying needs of people who desire to strengthen their walk with Christ, and to develop deeper relationships with other believers. You can see the times and schedules of the meetings on the church website by clicking here on: CHBC Men’s Fraternity; or the Events List of the CHBC website for a variety of weekly women’s Bible studies.

Quotes from Church History
“Gospel-holiness will not save us; it must be the righteousness of God by faith.” – Benjamin Keach (1640-1704, English Particular Baptist)
