CHBC Worship for 2/14/21
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.

The church is built on the foundation of the Lordship of Christ, the Centrality of the Scriptures, and the Glory of God. Why did God in His wisdom devise the establishment of this bride known as the Church? The church as three purposes: to Equip Believers; to Exalt Christ; and to Extend the Gospel. Every single day your pastors are praying, preparing, and discussing how to accurately communicate the Bible so that we are all growing in our knowledge of God and His Word. This pursuit is not so we can look better as a Christian, but because we understand that a greater theology brings about a greater doxology. The more we know God and apply His gospel-love to our lives, the more we will treasure and praise Him.

Even in these strange days we want to stay central to our mission. We must not allow circumstances to rob us of our convictions. As we gather again for worship this Lord’s Day may it be to recommit ourselves to the ways of God and the work of God.

If you are not able to attend in person, then join us for our worship service by live stream through the CHBC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/chbcokc/.  We are also providing seating in the Activity Center for Sunday School and Worship services, and we are asking that any who attend in the Activity Center wear a face covering.

We are continuing to seat by physically distancing (seating every other row and leaving a 3-chair gap between family units, as well as taking extra steps in cleaning and sanitizing. You are more than welcome to wear a face covering at all times. We are also providing our overflow seating in the Activity Center where we ask that all participants wear a face covering during the duration of the service.

Quotes from Church History
Athanasius: “Dead men cannot take effective action; their power of influence on others lasts only till the grave. Deeds and actions that energise others belong only to the living. Well, then, look at the facts in this case. The Saviour is working mightily among men, every day He is invisibly persuading numbers of people all over the world, both within and beyond the Greek-speaking world, to accept His faith and be obedient to His teaching. Can anyone, in face of this, still doubt that He has risen and lives, or rather that He is Himself the Life? Does a dead man prick the consciences of men...?” Athanasius (296-373, Bishop of Alexandria, Egypt (North Africa))

CHBC Worship for 2/7/21
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.
There are three pillars upon which the purpose of CHBC stands. Our goals to equip believers, exalt Christ, and extend the gospel rest upon three convictions: to be Biblically-Modeled, to be Mission-Minded, and to be Multi-Cultural. The third of these of these three convictions is to be Multi-Cultural. The aim is to increase diversity while maintaining unity. The image of heaven we get in Revelation is the celebration of saints from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. Our desire is for CHBC to be as reflective of that future reality today as our community diversity allows.
Even in these strange days we want to stay central to our mission. We must not allow circumstances to rob us of our convictions. As we gather again for worship this Lord’s Day may it be to recommit ourselves to the ways of God and the work of God.

Adult Mid-week Service: Generational Reproducers of the Faith
Psalm 145:4, “One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.” This Wednesday night we focused on the Imago Dei of every human being. We celebrated the fact that we are not just one group of people trying to pass on a set of beliefs to some other future group of people. But we are each made in the image of God and we are called to keep and guard the faith to pass on to our children, friends, neighbors, and co-workers all of whom are also made in the image of God.
