Lottie Moon Christmas Offerings
It is not too late for you to support missionaries serving with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. You can give a direct donation through the church by marking your check for Lottie Moon, or World Mission Offering. You can also use our Lottie Moon Post Office, then donate the amount of postage you would have used. Giving can be done online through the church website, by check dropped in the offering boxes, or mailed to the church office. The Lottie Moon Post Office will be available from December 6 through the end of the year. You can find the post office in the main hall near the entry to the Preschool Victory Village. To give follow this link: Missions. Choose either World Missions or Lottie Moon.

Christmas Worship Ministry Program
Due to the weather last Sunday, we postponed our worship ministry Christmas presentation to this Sunday. This music and narrative program will be incorporated into our Sunday morning service this year. Join us in person or online to hear from our worship ministry, as well as listen as Pastor Mark opens God’s Word for a special Christmas message for this week’s sermon.
CHBC 2021 Budget – Members Meeting
On Sunday night at 5 PM we will have our annual Members Meeting to approve the church budget. Copies of the budget will be available Sunday morning in stands near the Worship Center. If you cannot be present in person for the Members Meeting, you can join via Zoom at this link: Members Meeting online.
You can also preview the budget with this attachment: CHBC 2021 Budget.
CHBC Re-Gathering – December 20, 2020
The church is not a building people meet together in, but a people who gather to worship Jesus Christ as Lord.
Matthew 1:20-21 says, “But when he had thought this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a Son; and you shall name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” There is no greater reason to worship God than for this very fact. He sent His Son to be the Savior of our sins. His name means Savior, His work was to seek and save the lost, His death was act of our salvation, and His resurrection confirms God’s commitment to save us. We exalt Christ because He alone saves.
We are currently offering our weekly service by live stream through the CHBC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/chbcokc/. We are also providing seating in the Activity Center for Sunday School and Worship services, and we are asking that any who attend in the Activity Center wear a face covering.
If you gather with us in the Worship Center know that we are physically distancing and sanitizing. You are more than welcome to wear a face covering at all times. Please RSVP, especially if you will be using ETC (Extended Teaching Care for 3 years and younger). The RSVP helps us be prepared for overflow seating, for children in ETC, and for seating in the Worship Center. Thank you for understanding the need to physically distance and to RSVP. Click the link to go the CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP page on the website: CHBC Re-Gathering RSVP. If you forget to RSVP or you meet someone you want to invite to worship with us, please still attend and do not worry about telling them how to RSVP. We will accommodate everyone either in the main Worship Center or in our overflow rooms.
Christmas Activities for CHBC
· December 20 at 10 AM – Christmas Worship Service
· December 24 at 5 PM – Christmas Eve Service
Sunday School
CHBC is currently Re-Grouping into Sunday School. Each class begins at 9 AM. You can read the Re-Grouping Plan for Sunday School here: CHBC Sunday School Re-Grouping. There are some changes to where groups meet, so please read the plan carefully. Lifeway has changed the way they are providing online resources. We have determined it is no longer cost effective to provide links to online Sunday School. However, we will continue to offer a printable curriculum from CHBC in Washington DC, and we can provide our Sunday School Literature to you by mail or can drop it by your home. Please let us know if you would like a print version of the Lifeway curriculum from your Sunday School class for home use.
Quotes from Church History
Lottie Moon: “
Only believe, don't fear. Our Master, Jesus, always watches over us, and no matter what the persecution, Jesus will surely overcome it.” – Lottie Moon (1840-1912, Baptist Missionary to China)
Prayer
Pray today for the many people in your life and in our world, who need to hear the good news of a Savior. And thank God for those, like Lottie Moon, who are still answering the call to go to those places where the name of Jesus is not known.
